Setting the Table
On Sunday morning, Mike and I sat on our screen porch talking about how we’d like to use our outdoor space this autumn. We imagined evenings beside a fire in the chiminea, blankets around us, prehaps lingering outside a little longer as the air cools. Before long, we were putting away the things we’d used through summer and making space for that possibility. It felt a little like setting the table for time we hope to share.
As we worked, I found myself thinking about the other ways I’d gathered that week: meals with friends, conversations unfolding in our family text thread and the lovely conversations that have continued after practice at the Sanctuary. Each took a different shape, but each made room for us to be with one another.
As Rooted comes to a close this week, I’m reflecting on what we’ve shared through these practices. We’ve returned to the body, breath, support, rhythm, and connection around us. We’ve rested together, each in our own way, and sometimes stayed to talk afterward. Those moments have helped shape Gathering, the season ahead: an invitation to return to ourselves while spending time in the company of others.
Throughout autumn, each practice will offer a simple center of attention-perhaps a bowl holding something I’ve gathered from the season. The center may change from week to week. We can gather around it without needing to share the same experience, with room to move, rest, reflect, share, listen or simply be present in our own way.
Gathering runs October 12 - November 22.
Come for the full season or join us when you can.

Individual Practice
I’m opening more space for one-to-one practice at the Sanctuary. These sessions can be shaped around what you’re seeking that day, whether it’s gentle movement, supported rest, sound or time to pause. Appointments are available for 30, 45, 60 or 75 minutes.
I’m looking forward to setting the table for this next season and welcoming you when you can join us.
Warmly,
Cara
